Amazon has extended its faster Same-Day and Overnight Delivery services to Prime members in Calgary, Edmonton and nearby communities, following successful launches in the Greater Toronto Area, Southwestern Ontario and Metro Vancouver last summer.
The expanded service offers quicker delivery on millions of items across more than 35 categories, with free delivery on orders over $25 for Prime members and lower fees for smaller orders. Non-Prime customers pay a flat rate of $11.99 per order.
Customers can now order by 8:30 p.m. to receive deliveries the next morning within two delivery windows: 4-8 a.m. or 7-11 a.m. Eligible products are clearly labeled with “Prime Same-Day” or “Prime Overnight” tags.
Amazon says these improvements are backed by investments in 12 Alberta fulfillment facilities and a workforce of over 7,000 employees across the prairie region. “In 2025 alone, we’ve allocated hundreds of millions of dollars globally to invest in technologies, resources, training and programs to further our safety efforts,” the company said.
The company added these services benefit not only Amazon employees but also thousands of Alberta-based small and medium businesses selling on its platform, contributing to local economic growth.
