Accenture acquires Toronto-based IAMConcepts to strengthen cybersecurity services

Accenture has acquired IAMConcepts, a Canadian company specializing in identity and access management (IAM) services, to expand its cybersecurity offerings across key industries including transportation, financial services, utilities and mining.

Headquartered in Toronto, IAMConcepts provides end-to-end IAM services such as identity governance, privileged access management and customer identity solutions. Since its founding in 2013, the company has worked with some of Canada’s largest banks, insurers, higher education institutions and infrastructure organizations.

“As AI accelerates the threat landscape, organizations must rethink their approach to identity security. Yet most identity and access management programs still focus predominantly on human users,” said Paolo Dal Cin, global lead, Accenture Cybersecurity. “By combining IAMConcepts’ technical skills and critical infrastructure knowledge with Accenture’s end-to-end cybersecurity services and expertise, we will help our clients to secure digital identities through a more holistic approach to threat detection.”

IAMConcepts CEO Fahad Kabir said joining Accenture will strengthen protections for clients facing new threats. “Agentic and generative AI has completely changed the game on both sides of the fight, making strong and robust IAM protections even more critical for business resilience,” he said.

Kristine Osgoode, Canada lead at Accenture Cybersecurity, said cyberattacks pose significant risks to the country’s economy and security. “As threats continue to grow more complex, strengthening identity security is crucial to a strong digital core and proactive risk management,” she said.

The deal is the latest in a series of cybersecurity acquisitions for Accenture, which has made 22 such moves since 2015, including CyberCX, Morphus and MNEMO Mexico.
