Amazon expands same-day afternoon delivery windows to Edmonton, Calgary, Southwestern Ontario

Amazon is expanding its afternoon same-day delivery windows to Edmonton, Calgary and parts of Southwestern Ontario, building on a rollout launched in December in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and Hamilton.

Prime members in the newly added regions can now choose delivery windows between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. or 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., in addition to existing overnight and evening options. Customers can order as late as 10:30 a.m. for afternoon delivery between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., or by midnight for late-morning delivery.

The company says the move follows its fastest delivery speeds ever for Canadian Prime members last year, with more than 450 million items arriving the same or next day.

Across the expanded regions, customers can select from four delivery windows: overnight delivery between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.; extended daytime delivery between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.; afternoon delivery between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; and evening delivery between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Same-day delivery is available on qualifying orders over $25 and includes millions of eligible items across categories such as household essentials, electronics, toys and beauty products.

Amazon says the expanded service is supported by investments in fulfillment facilities located closer to customers to reduce travel distances and speed up deliveries.
