Pandora has opened a new online distribution centre in Mississauga as the company looks to speed up deliveries and strengthen its Canadian supply chain.
The jewellery retailer said Canada is one of its fastest-growing markets, with revenue rising more than 50 per cent since 2019.
More than 20 per cent of Pandora’s Canadian sales come from online orders, which until now were fulfilled through U.S.-based distribution centres. By shifting order processing to Canada, the company says delivery times will be cut by up to half, to between two and four days from five to seven, while also simplifying returns.
The move is also expected to reduce exposure to U.S. tariffs, as orders for the Canadian market will no longer pass through American customs.
“The new distribution centre is an important step forward for Pandora in Canada. It means faster deliveries, more reliable service and a better overall experience for our Canadian customers. The new centre also reflects how we continually optimise our global distribution network to support long-term growth and strengthen our global supply chain,” said Tania Brosseau, Pandora vice-president of Canada.
The facility, operated by GXO Logistics, Inc., can handle up to 12,500 online orders per day.
Pandora said the site is the first to adopt its new logistics architecture, designed to replace older systems and improve stock availability and order accuracy.
The centre also uses a “pick-to-light” system that guides workers using lights to identify items for each order, helping speed processing and reduce errors.
Pandora operates 96 stores in Canada and employs more than 1,400 people. Its retail network is supplied from a central distribution hub in Thailand.
