Not-for-profit shake-up

TORONTO – At its AGM on June 21 members of the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council approved an agreement with the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) and the Canadian Supply Chain Research Foundation (CSCRF). Through that agreement, the Council has transferred its assets to SCMA and the CSCRF, a charitable foundation.

Members, the board of directors and staff of the Council are all pleased to have a new permanent home that will allow for the continuation of HR-focused research for Canada’s supply chain sector and the end of our financial instability.

Some of the Council’s resources – the Connector Skills-Matching Tool, the national occupational standards and numerous videos, including our People in Supply Chain and Jumping In series – will move to SCMA’s website, at www.scma.com.

Other tools – research reports and labour market information – and the National Accreditation Program will move to the CSCRF, whose website will be launched in the coming weeks. Finally, the Council’s Virtual HR Department has been taken over by CITT.

The organization will continue as the CSCRF. Stakeholders will continue to drive projects. Council members will continue to be engaged in Foundation committees, decision making and activities. Accreditation decisions of the National Accreditation Program will continue to be made by the independent Accreditation Review Panel.

SCMA has spent the last year in a process of strategic planning and renewal. The integration of CSCSC’s projects complements SCMA’s new strategic plan and vision, which will be unveiled in the fall, as well as SCMA’s ongoing efforts to steward the supply chain profession.
