Quebec Transport Minister to address CITA conference

Jacques Baril, Minister for Transport and Maritime Policy for the Province of Qubec will address delegates at the CITA-ACTI Transportation & Trade Conference.

CITA-ACTI conference will be held in Dorval, QC on January 28 and 29, 2002 at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel and will bring together Canadian shippers, government officials, and transportation professionals.

Minister Baril is the featured luncheon speaker on January 29th, and will discuss his findings released in the first Qubec Marine Transport Policy paper. Minister Baril’s extensive consultations on the future of the St. Lawrence River offers a number of recommendations on how to increase and optimize its value to the industry, the communities that live on it and the province

“Canada has long under-estimated the potential, not only of the St. Lawrence River, but the entire St. Lawrence Seaway system”, says Lisa MacGillivray, President of CITA-ACTI. “We are fortunate that the Minister recognises that the CITA Transportation and Trade Conference is an excellent venue to discuss his Marine Policy Report and highlight new opportunities on the River system.”
