FedEx Express says it has readjusted its network in Asia to provide more service to address increased trade between Japan and China.
FedEx Express now offers five daily direct flights between Narita and Beijing and five direct flights between Narita and Shanghai.
Beijing and Shanghai are two of China’s major distribution points, and FedEx said the direct flights should help China as it enters the World Trade Organization.
FedEx currently provides service to 202 cities in China, and began flying between Shanghai and Anchorage a year ago. The company has been operating in Japan since 1984, and has 1,600 employees there.
