In celebration of their 50th anniversary this year, Reimer Express Lines Ltd., held a luncheon for customers and employees in Winnipeg.
“We’ve spent a lifetime waiting for this day and I’m very proud to be part of this occasion”, said Clayton Gording, Vice President of Operations for Reimer Express Lines Ltd.
Founder and Chairman of Reimer Express Lines Ltd, Dr. D.S. Reimer, spoke about the humble beginnings of the company, as well as its future prospects.
The luncheon was also attended by the Minister of Highway and Transportation of Manitoba, Steve Ashton, who stressed that trucking is critical for the province’s current economic circumstances and for the future.
“Look at much of rural and northern Manitoba. It really wouldn’t exist today in the form it is, without trucking,” he said.
To mark their 50th Anniversary this year, Reimer Express Lines unveiled an antique replica of the truck and trailer from 1952. The tractor is a completely restored 1952 International L185 and the trailer is a 1952 Trailmobile, single axle configuration. Both units are fully operational and will be used in various functions throughout the year.
