DHL introduces new trade automation service

DHL has launched its new Trade Automation Service (TAS).

TAS is an interactive, online application offering automated global trade and customs clearance information. Powered by Open Harbor, a provider of global trade management solutions, DHL’s Trade Automation Service is available worldwide and covers 50 countries, 80% of the world’s trade and more than 8 million trade rules.

Jeffrey Bass, DHL’s TAS program director, explains, "TAS will give customers immediate access to customs clearance information allowing them to better comply with trade tariffs and regulations before a shipment is sent."

The TAS services include Landed Cost Calculator, Product Compliance, Comparative Landed Costs, Trade Documents, Interactive Classification and Restricted Party Screening.*

"Trade Automation Service is the most advanced system of its kind, offering sophisticated and complex trade content rules. By helping to ensure the accuracy of customs paperwork and landed cost estimates, TAS lets customers deliver their goods to markets more profitably," concluded Bass.

Through TAS, DHL offers its customers instantaneous access to country clearance requirements from a single source. The easy-to-use Trade Automation Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is continuously updated with the latest data.
