ICAO president appointed to tenth term

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has re-elected Doctor Assad Kotaite to president of the Council for the tenth consecutive term, running to 2004.

Accepting the appointment, Dr Kotaite said that global co-operation would be necessary among the contracting states of ICAO and the other members of the international civil aviation community, to address the aviation challenges of the 21st century, particularly the enormous security challenge posed by the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US.
