China Southern, JAL sign code-sharing agreement

China Southern Airlines and Japan Air Lines have entered into a code sharing agreement on the cargo service between Guangzhou-Tokyo, which started on April 15, reports HK Shipping Gazette.

Under the agreement, JAL will use a B747F freighter with a capacity of 100 tons of freight. The Chinese carrier will be allocated space on the freighter, and shippers can make bookings at the sales office of China Southern Airlines Cargo and consign their cargo directly to the carrier.

The Japanese airline says it will increase the number of cargo flights between Guangzhou and Tokyo provided it receives the rights to operate more flights by mainland authorities in the coming negotiations with the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
