Schneider National ranked among top military-friendly employers

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Schneider National has been recognized as one of the top military-friendly employers for the third consecutive. The transportation, intermodal and logistics services came in at number 13 on G.I. Jobs’ list of Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers.

The list, now in its sixth year, recognizes the best of the best in veteran-hiring efforts among companies earning more than $1 billion in annual revenues. The entrants are evaluated on criteria including assets dedicated to military recruiting, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, veteran training programs, and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service. Of the 2,500 corporations eligible, just 2% made this year’s list.

According to Mike Hinz, vice-president of driver recruitment at Schneider National and a former member of the US Army, about 25% of all Schneider associates have a military background – including 20% of senior leadership. A full 26% of Schneider drivers have military experience.

Over the last 12 months, Schneider further solidified its commitment to the military by implementing and expanding a number of key programs, including its Apprentice Program, Vetrepreneur Program and Army Reserve Employer Partnership.
