The Port of Québec has added Canadian agri-food company Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd. (P&H) to its roster of strategic partners through a new collaboration with QSL.
P&H has acquired assets from Société en commandite Terminal grains (Sollio Agriculture) at Anse-au-Foulon, a move the Port says will improve international market access and bolster both regional and national economies.
“This partnership with P&H is strengthening supply chains for Canadian agricultural exports while supporting a shared vision of sustainable development. Their expertise and commitment to the community will play an important role in helping the Port better integrate into Québec City’s urban fabric,” said Olga Farman, president and CEO of the Port of Québec.
A family-owned business for more than 100 years, P&H operates grain terminals in Ontario and British Columbia. The new Québec location provides year-round maritime access, intermodal connectivity and deepwater capacity for large ocean vessels.
The agreement is seen as a pivotal development for Anse-au-Foulon, which the Port describes as a strategic link for trade with Europe and other global markets.
