Fuel Transport launches $8M AI initiative to modernize North American logistics operations

Fuel Transport is rolling out an $8-million artificial intelligence initiative aimed at modernizing logistics operations across North America.

The Montreal-based logistics and transportation company said the Transport Optimization project will integrate AI-powered systems to improve pricing, quoting and carrier selection across its operations in Canada, the United States and Mexico. The initiative is being developed in collaboration with Scale AI, Vooban, CRIM, the Geloso Group and Les Camions Fuel.

The company said the program is built around four interoperable modules, including tools for dynamic pricing and quote management, AI-assisted carrier recommendations, standardized operating procedure management and a conversational employee assistant designed to improve internal efficiency.

“At Fuel, we believe true progress happens when intelligent technology works hand in hand with human instinct. We’re proud to collaborate with partners who share this vision and have been instrumental in bringing Transport Optimization to life,” said Robert Piccioni, CEO of Fuel Transport. “With this initiative, we are not only elevating operational efficiency but also redefining what it means to lead with insight, agility and responsibility in the logistics sector.”

Vooban executive vice-president Hugues Foltz said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing intelligent logistics across the continent.

“Collaborating with a leader like Fuel Transport in building AI systems that both optimize operations and strengthen decision-making across North America’s transport networks is an honour for Vooban, as it reflects our shared commitment to shaping the future of intelligent logistics.”
