Old Dominion wins ATA award

THOMASVILLE, North CarolinaOld Dominion Freight Line, Inc has received the ATA 2016 Excellence in Trucking Claims and Loss Prevention Award.

Every year, the American Trucking Association (ATA) Transportation Security Council honors the company with a consistently low ratio in cargo claims and a proven loss prevention program. Old Dominion won this award for the fourth consecutive year.

It is the only nationally recognized award of its kind in the US trucking industry.

Terry Hutchins, OD VP of field services & real estate, said, “As a long-time member of the ATA, we are thrilled to be recognized for our commitment to delivering shipments error free. An award based on factors such as, claims ratio, loss prevention education, delivered error ratio and claims filed per shipment showcases OD’s dedication to serving our customers.”

The ATA stated, “The award is a recognition of Old Dominion’s commendable freight claims management processes and loss prevention programs, its ability to continuously reduce its claim/loss ratio and its exemplary service.”

Geoff Stephany, OD director of security and claims, accepted the award on the company’s behalf at the ATA Safety and Security Conference in Oklahoma City, OK.
