PECO Pallet has been awarded the inaugural Corporate Award for Environmental Sustainability by the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT) in recognition of its leadership in advancing sustainable logistics and supply chain practices.
The honour, presented in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) category, highlights PECO’s companywide efforts to reduce environmental impact, support circular supply chains, and promote sustainability in pallet pooling operations.
“PECO Pallet has made sustainability an integral part of their business practices and has demonstrated creativity, capability and leadership in environmental stewardship and sustainable development,” said Pina Melchionna, president and CEO of CITT. “They are a clear example of a company dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint and making consequential, impactful decisions to reach that goal.”
Lisa Vegso, PECO’s chief commercial officer, said sustainability is a core value at the company: “Environmental sustainability is not just a program at PECO Pallet, it is the foundation of everything we do.”
Headquartered in Illinois with a Canadian office in Mississauga, Ont., PECO manages an inventory of about 24 million red, high-quality pallets across a network of more than 90 depots. Its customer base includes retailers, grocers, agriculture producers and consumer goods companies.
