Pineberry Manufacturing staffer wins PMMI award

TORONTO – Pineberry Manufacturing’s Tarique Walters was honoured at the On The Rise Awards, which were presented at the 2019 PMMI (the association for packaging and processing technologies) Annual Meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 4th, 2019.

The On The Rise Awards were developed by PMMI’s Emerging Leaders Committee to recognize ‘rising stars’ in packaging and processing. The 12 2019 winners are individuals who have demonstrated excellent leadership qualities and show potential for continued success in the industry. Walters was the only Canadian to receive the recognition this year.

Tarique Walters began working at Pineberry Manufacturing Inc. in 2015 after graduating with a diploma in Automation and Robotics Technology from Centennial College in Toronto. He quickly obtained an understanding of the various systems and solutions that Pineberry provides to the packaging industry.

Walters’s ability to handle various situations during the design and manufacturing stage internally along with his skillset of working directly with customers off-site from senior management to operators during the start-up phase is a tremendous asset to Pineberry Manufacturing Inc.

“Tarique’s knowledge has been incredibly valuable and he has demonstrated leadership qualities in his role at Pineberry since day one,” said Daniel LaForce, vice-president of sales and marketing at Pineberry Manufacturing Inc.

“In addition to enhancing Pineberry’s understanding and use of PLC programming, he has also shown strength in the way that he works with clients both on-site in the field and here at our production facility.”

In his role as a electro mechanical technician, Walters has exhibited his ability to handle various situations during the design and manufacturing stage internally, while also having the capability to work directly with clients at different company levels, from senior management to operators during the start-up phase.
