Aéro Montréal and Ontario Aerospace Council sign supply chain deal

LE BOURGET, FRANCE—Aéro Montréal, Québec’s aerospace cluster, today signed a framework collaboration agreement with the Ontario Aerospace Council (OAC), Ontario’s aerospace cluster, during the International Paris Air Show. This agreement aims to establish a special relationship between the two aerospace clusters and increase exchanges of information regarding innovation and optimization of the supply chain.

Suzanne M. Benoît, president of Aéro Montréal, applauded the initiative, noting that it will provide many benefits to Québec’s aerospace industry.

“We strongly believe there is good potential for sharing information on our sector’s challenges and best practices, especially with regards to the development of business opportunities and the internationalization of SMEs,” she said. “Our goal is to develop a system of collaboration between our two organizations on various projects and implement cross membership. We want to foster a better structured network among Ontario and Québec SMEs by creating a true link between our two regions.”

This collaboration could help to foster new opportunities for Québec suppliers in Ontario.

Aéro Montréal, Québec’s aerospace cluster, is a strategic think tank that groups all the major decision makers in Québec’s aerospace sector, including companies, educational and research institutions, associations and unions. Its mission is to mobilize industry players around common goals and concerted actions to increase the cohesion and optimize competitiveness of Québec’s aerospace cluster. It aims to foster the growth and expansion of the cluster so as to ensure that it may continue to create wealth for Montréal, Québec and Canada.
