Dematic integrating Retrotech business

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN—Dematic, a supplier of integrated automated technology, software and services to optimize the supply chain, has revealed plans to integrate Retrotech, Inc into its organization.

Retrotech, with a 30-year legacy of providing expert modernizations and new automated systems in North America, will become a division of the Dematic North America Customer Service organization. Dematic was acquired by the KION Group on 1 November 2016; Retrotech had been acquired by the KION Group in March 2016.

The company says it hopes the integration, which is targeted for completion in 2017, will enhance Dematic’s aftermarket lifecycle offerings and bring incremental solutions and top talent to Dematic’s new systems business.

The division will be known as Dematic Retrotech and will remain headquartered in Rochester, New York. The company will continue to bring a consultative approach to both existing and prospective users of automation and software.

“This integration brings a large body of experience and resources to the fast-growing Dematic organization while fueling Retrotech’s growth with Dematic’s broad portfolio of products, R&D and global reach,” said Mike Kotecki, Dematic’s senior vice president, customer service.

Paul Deveikis, Retrotech’s managing director, commented: “The process will retain and enhance our long-standing reputation of objectivity and customer advocacy. The unified organization will be second to none in our ability to improve the value of installed supply chain technology.”
