LUFKIN, Texas—Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. has opened a new Service Center in Lufkin, Texas.
The Lufkin service centre is one of 21 Old Dominion service centres in Texas. The Thomasville, NC-based less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier, which is over 80 years old, has operated in the state of Texas for over a decade.
The new facility was a response to a significant increase in shipment growth throughout Texas. This centre allows Old Dominion to more efficiently reach customers throughout the day at difficult hours.
“This new service centre enables OD to deliver freight earlier in the morning, which is very important to many of our customers,” said Darrell Benefield, manager of Old Dominion’s Lufkin Service Center and the service center in Tyler. “We will also be better enabled to respond to their pick-up needs in the evening.”
The nine-door, two-acre facility is located to serve customers in the vibrant East Texas region, reaching a number of cities in the area, including Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Crockett, Jasper and Livingston.
