Air Canada Cargo is increasing its ground handling charges in select Canadian and U.S. stations, saying the update is due to increased global costs.
The adjusted rates will go into effect Sept. 1, and include the following changes:
Canada
Import termination charges (code CD):
- Shipments removed in bond: $120.00 per shipment
- Preparation of shipments for Customs clearance: $120.00 per shipment
United States
Import termination charges (code CD):
- Applicable to: Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), and San Francisco (SFO)
- Shipments removed in bond: $140.00 per shipment
- Preparation of shipments for Customs clearance: $140.00 per shipment
Cargo storage charges (code SR) for Chicago (ORD) station:
Regular:
- No charge for first 48 hours
- Minimum charge per shipment: $100.00
- Minimum charge per day: $20.00; no charge for first 48 hours
- Rate per kilogram: $0.35
Special handling:
- No charge for first 48 hours
- Minimum charge per shipment: $120.00
- Minimum charge per day: $40.00; no charge for first 48 hours
- Rate per kilogram: $0.50
Cargo storage charges (code SR) for Los Angeles (LAX) station:
Regular:
- No charge for first 48 hours
- Minimum charge per shipment: $135.00
- Minimum charge per day: $20.00; no charge for first 48 hours
- Rate per kilogram: $0.50
Special handling:
- No charge for first 48 hours
- Minimum charge per shipment: $260.00
- Minimum charge per day: $40.00; no charge for first 24 hours
- Rate per kilogram: $0.65
Air Canada Cargo said until Sept. 1, customers can refer to its charges and fees page for its current Canada and U.S. ground handling charges.
