GEORGETOWN, Ontario—Georgetown-based Fraser Direct Distribution is moving to a new larger, more modern facility near Highway 401 in Milton, Ontario. The 105,000-square-foot space will be LEED certified and employ the latest in warehouse technology.

The move will accommodate steady growth and improve operational efficiencies through consolidation. Construction has begun for a move in date of June 2016, the company said.

The new facility will consolidate three buildings located in Georgetown and Acton. With a customized layout and 32-foot ceilings, it will accommodate 1,500 more skid positions and create more efficient and effective operations. The London Supply Chain Management division was relocated to a more modern facility in 2011 and will remain in London.

Fraser Direct was started by Al and Lois Fraser in January 2000 with a 60,000-square-foot warehouse, a staff of 40 people. Today, Fraser Direct is a full service 3PL with a staff of 130.

“Over the past 12 years, we have acquired significant expertise in marketing fulfillment for the consumer packaged goods industry, obtained a site license with Health Canada to distribute natural health products, been approved to warehouse and ship pharmaceuticals, obtained a designation to ship controlled goods and put hundreds of SOPs in place to ensure that the Quality Assurance program we offer is first class,” said president Lois Fraser.
