MISSISSAUGA, Ontario—To promote worker safety and reduce accidents associated with low-light or busy, fast-moving environments, Cintas Canada, Ltd. has introduced a new visibility workwear rental program. Designed for workers in warehouses, construction, transportation and building materials industries, the program offers high and enhanced visibility shirts, pants and coveralls.

Under provincial Occupational Health & Safety legislation, employers have a duty to keep employees safe. As a result, more companies are adopting visibility programs if workers are in an environment that requires additional visibility.

“More organizations are looking for ways to improve the safety of workers,” said Scott Neill, Merchandising Manager, Cintas Canada and member of the CSA-Z96 committee for High Visibility Safety Apparel. “Our visibility workwear program not only keeps workers in plain sight, it eliminates many of the headaches associated with managing a safety apparel program. With Cintas, workers always have the right apparel available when they need it.”

The high-visibility garments are available in orange with retro-reflective striping and are ideal for individuals working in transportation or construction zones. The orange garments also comply with the CSA-Z96 standard.

Cintas launders garments according to specifications to preserve the integrity of the garment, inspecting for tears or wear patterns. Having a managed program to maintain the integrity of these garments is important given the reflectivity of both the background fabric and retro-reflective tape.

“Canada has many complex work environments and our new visibility garment program will help add additional safety for workers,” Neill said.
