McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania — JLG Industries, Inc a global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, opened its new east coast parts distribution centre in Atlanta earlier this month.

The 316,000-square-foot distribution center will stock more than 65,000 SKUs. The parts offering from this facility will include all products from the JLG Genuine, JLG Reman, and MaxQuip lines. All available parts can be shipped next-day delivery in North America.

“Opening this new distribution centre, in addition to the Las Vegas facility opened earlier this year, supports our overall plan to strategically place facilities in areas that result in better service for our customers,” said Jonathan Dawley, global vice president, aftermarket at JLG Industries, Inc.

“Assigning our customers to the closest distribution center will result in improved parts availability, quicker delivery times and, in many instances, lower freight costs.”

The new facility began shipping parts on July 5 to select areas. Shipments from the Atlanta-based PDC will ramp up over time, with the expectation that it will be fully operational by mid-September.

Customers can order online or by phone. Orders will be shipped from the nearest JLG parts location directly to the customer.

“We anticipate our new multi-warehouse parts distribution network will enable us to better serve the needs of customers across the country, resulting in improved uptime and a reduced total cost of ownership,” said Dawley.

According to Dawley, customers will be assigned a primary warehouse based on their zip code and its proximity to a distribution centre. In general, western states will be served by the Las Vegas facility and eastern states by the Atlanta centre, with allocation logic based on maximum uptime.

Currently, all international shipments are initiated from the company’s Orville, Ohio-based DC These shipments will transition to the new Atlanta-based parts center over the next few months.

JLG’s product portfolio includes brands such as JLG aerial work platforms; JLG and SkyTrak telehandlers; and an array of  accessories.
