NASHVILLE, Tenn. ― Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC (FSIP) announced a change in supply chain strategy with the opening of its new distribution centre in Chobienice, Poland.

The DC will help to centralize the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations in Europe.

The new facility is located a short distance from the existing FSIP plant in Wolsztyn, Poland, enabling a smooth transfer of products from manufacturing to the warehouse. The modern distribution centre has a footprint of more than 100,000 square feet, and it is equipped with four loading docks.

“Our new approach focuses on centralizing many of our processes and operations in order to optimize the supply chain to our original equipment (OE) customers and aftermarket distributors across Europe,” said Emily Poladian, president, FSIP.

In September, FSIP announced a 20,000 square foot expansion of its manufacturing facility in Wolsztyn, Poland, in addition to an investment in new technologies and equipment for the facility.

Earlier this year, parent company Bridgestone also announced new investments in eight tire plants across Europe, including two plants in Poland.

“Firestone Industrial Products continues to make strategic investments in Europe to better serve our customers, and we will continue to be innovative and dynamic as we respond to market growth,” said Poladian.
