New Jersey university to offer warehouse training

JERSEY CITY, New Jersey — New Jersey City University (NJCU) is opening a Logistics Center at its Business Development Incubator (BDI) with a state-of-the-art operational warehouse environment to will train and certify middle management working in the warehousing sector. The focus will be on TLD (Transportation, Logistics and Distribution). In addition to training, the program will conduct lectures addressing trends in the industry.

The program will offer certification in Wall-to-Wall Physical Inventory as well as Logistics. This July, the centre will host the lecture “Where will Tomorrow’s Worker Come From?” as part of an ongoing series.

NJCU president Dr. Sue Henderson announced the opening, stating, “The goal of this program is to bridge the gap between industry needs and the education of current and future warehousing workers, along with providing the link employers need to hire new highly skilled employees.”

Middlesex, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris and Union counties account for 62.2 percent of New Jersey’s TLD jobs and currently, more than 1 in 10 workers in the state are employed by the industry.

New Jersey City University (NJCU) offers 41 undergraduate programs, 27 masters programs and 2 doctoral programs.
