CALGARY, Alberta—A massive fire that shot thick black smoke into the sky from a warehouse in southeast Calgary has been brought under control.
The fire could be seen from miles away and started about 5:30 p.m. Friday at Standen’s, a manufacturing plant.
Fire department spokeswoman Carol Henke says crews were able to get it under control quickly.
There were no injuries and about 100 people were evacuated from the warehouse.
Standen’s makes springs, suspensions, components and some agricultural products.
