ATLANTA – Amid growing concerns about the spread of COVID-19, companies are cancelling their participation in the MODEX trade show set to go ahead next week, March 9th to 12th in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kion Group AG and sister company Dematic announced on Tuesday they were pulling out, followed by Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America (MCFA) and its Jungheinrich forklift brand today.

“Given the current uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 Coronavirus, we are taking these precautionary steps to help safeguard our employees, customers and dealers,” said John Sneddon, vice-president of sales and marketing, MCFA.

Several smaller players have also announced they would not attend, including Rite-Hite, Hannibal, Mallard Manufacturing, Berkshire Grey and Gaea Global Technologies, Inc.

Israel-based Inspekto CEO Harel Boren is reportedly in quarantine after travel to central Europe, prompting the company to convert its in-person press event at the show to a virtual press conference.

Inside Logistics will keep the cancellation list as up-to-date as possible here.
