FARMINGTON HILLS, Michigan—Daifuku Webb Holding Company is expanding its corporate portfolio.
The manufacturer of materials handling equipment, including automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and AS/RS technology, has purchased Elk Grove, Illinois-based Wynright Corp. Wynright makes conveyors and other intelligent materials handling systems.
Plans are for Wynright to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daifuku Webb.
According to Daifuku Webb’s president and chair, Brian Stewart, the takeover helps the company grow its local presence and expand outside of its traditional market.
“Daifuku has an enormous customer base for its highly-advanced Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) in Asia and Europe. This acquisition expands our warehousing and distribution business in North America by greatly improving the advanced technologies and services we offer our clients.”
