The Port of Québec said its long-time partner Davie being awarded a strategic contract to accelerate the delivery of a new polar icebreaker marks a key step in renewing Canada’s maritime capabilities and strengthening Québec’s shipbuilding expertise.
The project will leverage Davie’s international presence and Canadian supply chain to improve efficiency and productivity in defence procurement.
“Today marks an important milestone for Canada’s maritime future,” said Olga Farman, CEO of the Port of Québec. “This collective commitment is about much more than economic development: it’s a shared vision, a determination to build a stronger, more innovative and more sustainable maritime sector.”
