WestJet makes cargo more visible

CALGARY, Alberta: WestJet is now offering its cargo customers better access to information about their goods.

WestJet Cargo has launched a new website—westjetcargo.com—that provides users with the ability to book, trace and track individual shipments in real time. Customers can also go online to request waybills and enter claims.

In addition, the website provides other information such as shipping guidelines, restrictions and embargoes. It also offers a point of access for customers to submit queries and look up answers to frequently asked questions.

WestJet is operating the website in conjunction with Montreal-based airline service management company Exp-Air Cargo Ltd. The two businesses have had a working relationship since 2010, and the creation of the website has led to increased ties between the two organizations, including a new payment structure, a system upgrade and a new sales team.

Although WestJet currently only serves the Canadian market, the company announced it has plans to expand into the US and Mexico “in the near future”.
