Each week, MM&D online will feature a roundup of some of the new appointments and position changes within the transportation and materials handling fields.
Kenco has appointed Sean Coakley to senior vice-president of sales and marketing. Kenco provides integrated logistics solutions, real estate services and material handling equipment.
James Welch will leave his position as president and CEO of Dynamex Inc, a delivery company acquired by Transforce in December, 2010. Welch will leave his position July 22.
Viascan, a provider of solutions and products for the enterprise mobile computing market, has hired several new sales staff. Patrick Gougeon is now in charge of AIDC and media products, Viascan announced. His territory includes Montreal East, South Shore of Montreal and the Estrie region. Gougeon has over 20 years of sales experience at companies like PLM Solutions, SolidXperts, Telus and Bell.
Barry McDonough is now in charge of media products for the Toronto area, Viascan announced. McDonough has experience in the media market (ribbons, labels, printed and pre-printed labels).
Viascan’s third new sales representative, David Boyd, has over 20 years experience in auto ID, the company said, including background in account management, OEM product management, marketing products to the Canadian re-seller and distribution network as well as national sales management. His expertise is in supply chain logistics and automated data collection. He has expertise in RFID, including passive, active and Wi-Fi related.
Chris Arnold has been appointed vice-president, operations and solutions development at Intelligrated. Arnold will lead the company’s operations and solutions development team’s efforts to provide enhanced life cycle services for Intelligrated’s clients. Arnold has over two decades of experience in the warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, and logistics industry including hands-on experience with high volume retail and e-commerce companies.
Barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions provider SATO Corporation has appointed Michael Fowler as general manager, international business division of SATO Corporation. Fowler succeeds Kaz Matsuyama as SATO’s first non-Japanese general manager. Fowler will be based at the company’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan and will direct the company’s international business strategies, including sales and product development. He has is also been named senior executive officer of SATO Corporation.
Hyster Company has hired Thom Peebles as its marketing brand director and Jason Gasparik as director of big truck sales. Peebles will be responsible for all Hyster branding and marketing materials. With a background in manufacturing, product engineering and heavy equipment sales, Gasparik spent the last 10 years in the materials handling industry. Most recently, he was the large truck manager for Washington Lift, the Taylor dealer in Seattle.
