Who’s on the move this week [July 17, 2012]

Hector Orozco has been named as partner responsible for KOM International Inc’s Vancouver office. Orozco has been with the Montreal, Quebec-based company for five years and he has been running the west coast operation since 2010. As a partner, he will plan and develop supply chain projects, develop business for KOM, and continue to assist clients with planning and executing logistics strategies and distribution centre design and implementation.

Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Trailer Wizards Ltd has a new parts manager. Darrell Barton has joined the company to take on the role. A trained mechanic, he was previously employed as parts manager at Ocean Trailer.

After six years, Bruce Bowie will relinquish his role as president of the Canadian Shipowners Association at the end of August. His replacement has yet to be named.

Andrew Bell is the new customer care manager at Grimsby, Ontario-based RMT Robotics. He will be responsible for leading the team in developing long-term partnerships and improving service and support throughout the lifecycle of customers’ robotics systems.

ADS Tactical Inc is implementing a number of management changes following the announcement that current president, principal financial officer and board member, William Roper plans to retire. COO Dan Clarkson will succeed him. Jason Wallace will move up from vice-president of sales into the COO role and Brant Feldman will become the new vice-president of sales. As of July 31, Karan Rai will be director of international and strategic business development. CFO Patricia Bohlen will assume the role of principal financial officer. The Virginia Beach, Virginia-based company, supplies the US Armed Forces with operational and tactical equipment, kitting and assembly services, warehousing, and logistical services.
