The Shipping Federation of Canada has appointed Chris Hall as president, effective February 14, 2022. As vice-president of operations and harbour master at the Saint John Port Authority, he oversaw all aspects of port activity, led on marine policy and advocacy issues, and was responsible for service delivery overall. Hall also served as the port’s interim president from July to November of last year. Before joining the Port of Saint John, he spent ten years with Atlantic Towing, where he held management roles in operations and commercial activities. He is a master mariner and a graduate of the Canadian Coast Guard College, and holds management certificates from Western and Queens Universities.
Jeff Born has been named as the director of procurement and supply chain solutions overseeing North American activities for Alumicor Ltd., Tubelite Inc. and Linetec. These three companies and their six manufacturing locations provide storefront and finishing solutions as part of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. All three procurement departments report to Born. Most recently, Born served as vice-president of global supply chain for Michigan-based medical device manufacturer, SunMed, LLC. Before this, he was operations manager for global furniture design and manufacturer, Steelcase Inc. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis on marketing and finance.
CubicFarm Systems Corp. has appointed David Cole to its board of directors. As vice-chairman of the Enterprise Strategic Client Group at Royal Bank of Canada, Cole has expertise in strategic business growth, capital markets, financial products and client-centric sales and marketing. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and a member of multiple boards. Cole has also been a board member of the University of Western Ontario’s International Advisory Council since 2017, and a board member of Outward Bound Canada since 2017.
DAT Freight & Analytics has named Chris Kucharski as its chief technology officer. Kucharski joins DAT’s executive team. Before joining DAT, he was vice-president of engineering at ID.me, a digital identity network. Kucharski also served as senior vice-president of technology at Angi Inc. and held leadership roles at Nordstrom, Dimensional Fund Advisors and Dell Corp.
