Polaris Transportation Group

Richard Kunow

Richard Kunow has been named president of Polaris Transportation Group. Kunow was chief operating officer since joining the company in 2020. As president, he will oversee the Polaris Transportation Group and Polaris Commercial Warehousing companies. Kunow brings over 35 years of senior management experience to his new position, including positions with PepsiCo, Maple Leaf Foods, DHL and Walmart. He is a certified Six Sigma Level 3 Green Belt and has completed leadership programs at the Niagara Institute and the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University.  

Drakkar Group

Benoit Hudon (CNW Group/Drakkar)

Drakkar Group has appointed Benoit Hudon as president and CEO, effective January 18, 2024. Denis Deschamps, president and CEO, and Michel Blaquière, president and COO, will remain active members of the board of directors and the principal shareholders of the company. With nearly 25 years of experience in key management roles, including positions at Bombardier, Safran, Honeywell and AKKA Technologies before joining Drakkar 10 years ago, Hudon will further develop and expand the company in Canada, the United States and Europe.

Swissport

Swissport has appointed Frank Dobbelsteijn as global head of operations. Dobbelsteijn succeeds Richard Male, who has served as Swissport’s interim director of global operations since April 2023, and recently accepted a job offer outside of the company. Before joining Swissport, Dobbelsteijn was vice-president of Menzies’s single largest station at London Heathrow Airport. He had previously served the company as vice-president USA West Coast and vice-president Los Angeles, start-up project manager Europe and general manager low-cost division, Amsterdam. He also served as senior station manager at Amazon in Los Angeles, where he oversaw the company’s third-largest US distribution centre.
