Brie Carere

FedEx Corp. has promoted Brie Carere to be the company’s first chief customer officer. She also was named co-president and co-CEO of FedEx Services, a role she will share with Rob Carter, executive vice-president and chief information officer. FedEx Services provides strategic and technological support to the FedEx operating companies. Since joining FedEx in 2001, Carere has gained experience across every aspect of marketing. Most recently, Carere served as chief marketing and communications officer, leading an organization of more than 10,000 team members across multiple FedEx operating companies and overseeing the company’s global marketing strategy. Previously, Carere was vice-president of marketing, customer experience, and corporate communications for FedEx Express Canada. Carere founded a Women in Leadership community during her time in Canada and is a leader in the FedEx U.S. Women in Leadership network. She also serves on the board of directors for ZipRecruiter, a leading online employment marketplace. Originally from Ontario, Carere earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from McMaster University.

World Shipping Council

World Shipping Council (WSC) has welcomed three new team members. Anna Karklina has joined the Brussels office in the position of EU policy advisor. Karklina has worked in Brussels for the last five years and brings an excellent understanding of E.U. legislative machinery, having different positions within One Policy Place, an EU affairs monitoring organization. George Charalampidis takes up the role of manager, regulatory affairs, a global role located in London in primary liaison with the Washington, D.C., office. Before joining WSC, Charalampidis represented shipowners and operators through the International Chamber of Shipping at IMO. He is a Lawyer regulated in England and qualified in Greece, and has a Master’s degree (LLM) with Distinction in International Maritime Law from Swansea University. Nicholas (Nick) Tabori has joined the WSC office in Washington as director of U.S. regulatory affairs. Previously, Tabori served as a commissioned officer in the United States Coast Guard.  During that time, he served at sea conducting counter narcotics patrols, search and rescue, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was a Judge Advocate General attorney.
