Who’s on the move: March 11, 2024

CN has appointed Remi Lalonde as executive vice-president and special advisor to the CEO in anticipation of his transition to the role of chief commercial officer (CCO) of CN later in the year. Lalonde is spending his first on the on the job at CN learning about scheduled railroading, servicing customers, and executing CN’s planning model. Once this familiarization is completed, Lalonde will transition into the role of executive vice-president and CCO. Doug MacDonald, CN’s current executive vice-president and chief marketing officer, will remain in that role until the transition is completed later this year. Lalonde is the former president and CEO of a Quebec-based forest products company. He earned a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from the University of Ottawa.

Kinedyne

Bob Dissinger, director-sales, US cargo has retired from Kinedyne. Dissinger started with Kinedyne in 2003 as an account executive covering the eastern sales region of the United States. He was promoted to director-sales, US cargo in 2012.
Jim White has been appointed as the new director-sales, US cargo for Kinedyne’s Cargo Segment in the United States. White brings to Kinedyne over eight years of dedicated service in the United States Army as an intelligence specialist, followed by decades in organizations such as Meritor and Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company. He joined Kinedyne in 2022 as the government business development manager for the Kinedyne Defend brand. White was promoted to director-government business development for Kinedyne’s military and government segment.

ISTA

The International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), a developer of pre-shipment performance testing standards for packaged products, today announced membership changes to its European Board of Directors. Erich Steiner of Webston AG and Alberto Tellechea of Safe Load Testing Technologies were elected to the roles of chair and vice chair, respectively. Steiner succeeds Stuart Roberts, who will continue serving on the board as immediate past chair. ISTA also welcomed four new members-at-large to its European Board: Carl Bramley of PPT Group UK Ltd t/a Mecmesin, Carlos Monerris of ITENE, Maja Midebo of Fiskars Group, and James White of Smithers.
