The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) has appointed Karen Mazurkewich vice-president, stakeholder relations and communications, effective June 6, 2022. Most recently, Mazurkewich was vice-president, strategic communications at MaRS, where she led three teams: MaRS Corporate Communications and Marketing, Content Studio @ MaRS, and the Innovation Economy Council. She holds a Master’s diploma in communications from Concordia University and a BSc. (Hons) from Queen’s University. Before joining MaRS, Mazurkewich worked extensively in media, both in Canada and abroad, founding her own consulting firm targeting mobile apps and interactive platforms companies.
Stacey Howse of Portugal Cove, Newfoundland, has been appointed as a director of the St. John’s Port Authority for a term of three years.
The minister of transport announced appointments to the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada. Dr. Robert James Cronin of Courtenay, British Columbia, was reappointed as a part-time medical member of for a term of four years. Sébastien Desbiens from Québec, Quebec, was appointed as a part-time aviation member for a term of five years. Dr. Antoine Gagnon from Ottawa, Ontario, was appointed as a part-time medical member for a term of five years. Arnold Olson of Langley, British Columbia, was reappointed as a part-time aviation member for a term of three years. Dr. Mitchell Pantel of Kirkland, Quebec, was appointed as a part-time medical member for a term of five years.
Ballard Power Systems has appointed David Mucciacciaro as senior vice-president and chief commercial officer (CCO). Mucciacciaro succeeds Rob Campbell, who is retiring after serving as Ballard’s CCO since 2017. Campbell will continue to support the CCO transition process through July 2022. Mucciacciaro has extensive executive-level experience with Tier 1 automotive suppliers, including Magna, ZF Friedrichshafen, Faurecia, Lear Corporation and TRW Automotive. He was most recently vice-president, Global Sales, M&A and Marketing of Magna Electronics and on the board of directors for Magna Rohinni Automotive. Mucciacciaro holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
