Heidegunde “Heidi” Senger-Weiss died at the age of 82 on October 19, 2023. Together with her husband Paul, she steered the fortunes of Gebrüder Weiss from 1968 to 2004. From 2005 to 2017 she served on the Supervisory Board. She remained closely engaged in Gebrüder Weiss until her death. As president of the Central Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics, and in various functions at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, she championed the interests of the logistics segment, emphasizing its importance for the economy. Her leadership of the company and its employees turned Gebrüder Weiss into a role model for mid-sized family businesses. In 2015, Senger-Weiss was inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame at the German Ministry of Transport in Berlin, making her the first woman to earn this accolade. She has received numerous other awards for her life’s work, most recently the Grand Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria in November 2022.
The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) has appointed Joe Ohr as chief operating officer (COO). Ohr brings to the organization over 20 years of experience in engineering product software, gained from roles at Omnitracs, Qualcomm, and Eaton.
Jon Johnson has joined Tompkins Solutions as chief operating officer. Before joining Tompkins, Johnson held several senior leadership positions with ADVATIX, where he helped solve complex logistics challenges for industry-leading companies across a variety of verticals, including food and beverage, consumer goods and fashion.
Trax Technologies has appointed Blake Tablak as CEO. Tablak succeeds Hampton Wall, who will transition to the role of special advisor. In his most recent role at ProcessMAP, Tablak led the company through an acquisition by Ideagen. He previously held global leadership positions at Udacity, Workiva, and Topia, where he was responsible for driving innovative go-to-market strategies to accelerate sales.
