The Railway Association of Canada (RAC) has announced that its president and CEO, Marc Brazeau, will step down Feb. 28 after nearly seven years at the helm.
“We thank Marc for his leadership and all his contributions, and we wish him well in his future endeavours,” said RAC chair Janet Drysdale in a statement.
During his tenure, Brazeau led advocacy efforts on key regulatory and policy issues, strengthened relationships with stakeholders and advanced initiatives such as railway training programs, awareness campaigns and industry research.
Brazeau became president and CEO in 2018, coming in with more than two decades of transportation industry association experience. Between 1995 and 2015, he worked for the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA), where he spent more than seven years as the president and CEO. In that role, he implemented advocacy strategies, represented the association with elected politicians and senior government officials to defend the interests of its members and liaised with media on all matters related to the Canadian automotive aftermarket industry.
“Leading the incredible team at RAC has been a privilege since day one,” Brazeau said. “I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together and am confident that the association is well-positioned for continued success.”
The RAC says it will announce Brazeau’s successor in the near future.
