MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Ontario service provider In Transit Personnel Inc. has been purchased by CPC Logistics Canada, a division of CPC Logistics Inc.
CPC Logistics provides permanent and temporary Class A CDL truck driver and warehouse personnel services and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. It has over 20 regional offices, 3,000 transportation service employees in over 300 locations across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
“In Transit is a perfect strategic fit for our company as we look to grow our service offerings in Canada and the U.S.,” said Doug Crowell, president and CEO of CPC Logistics Canada. “This move will help us open new doors for us as we look to help solve our customers’ logistics needs.”
Discussions to buy In Transit Personnel quickly led to a sale largely on account of the company’s attractive value proposition: an extensive Ontario network, solid reputation and brand recognition, all shored up by 30 years of industry skills and experience. The company says the combined entities will complement services already offered by CPC Logistics, and their distribution, operations and transportation (DOT) HR solution verticals.
CPC will also look to leverage In Transit’s service capabilities and expertise in the areas of contract driver leasing; temp-to-hire; direct hire and on-call driver staffing, to help open doors across Canada.

“We are delighted to be joining the CPC family of companies to help grow the base of customers we already serve. We view CPC’s strengths as having familiarity of the Canadian marketplace, and a depth of support services to be a major motivator for doing this deal,” added Tracy Clayson, managing partner of In Transit Personnel, and MM&D’s Learning Curve columnist.
“First things first, In Transit will look to make use of CPC’s robust data infrastructure and technology tools to scale its current client portfolio including retail powerhouse Canadian Tire.”
CPC Logistics will integrate In Transit Personnel staff into its own office in the coming months. The two companies will continue to operate separately under their existing brands.
CPC serves private fleets of all sizes with driver & fleet management services. CPC’s subsidiary companies include CPC Logistics Canada (Based in Mississauga, Ontatio), Consolidated Logistics Solutions, TMH Transit, TMH Logistics & In Transit Personnel.
