Daseke Inc. has appointed Bharat Mahajan as chief financial officer. Mahajan takes over from Scott Wheeler, who was named Daseke’s president earlier this year. Mahajan previously served as CFO for Aveda Transportation and Energy Services, which merged with Daseke in June. Mahajan will work at Daseke’s Dallas-area headquarters.
Transflo has hired Jim Rodi as chief commercial officer. Rodi has over 20 years of industry experience, including leadership roles with Qualcomm (now Omnitracs), Rand McNally, and Trimble (including PeopleNet). Most recently he was executive vice-president and group general Manager of Trimble Transport & Logistics. Rodi will lead Transflo’s go-to-market functions, including sales, marketing, customer success, and business development, while collaborating with current management to guide overall corporate strategy and vision.
Michael Jacobs is Savi Technology’s newest Advisory Board member. Jacobs has spent more than 30 years immersed in logistics and supply chain management, having worked with several multi-national corporations in the retail, e-commerce, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries. He served as chief product officer and chief logistics officer at Keurig, Inc. during a period of rapid growth. As senior vice-president of logistics at TOYS R US, Jacobs achieved an impressive 100 percent increase in distribution center productivity. Today he is senior vice-president of supply chain at Ferguson Enterprises, the largest supplier of plumbing materials and a major distributor of industrial products.
PINC, a provider of yard management systems, finished vehicle logistics solutions, and aerial inventory drones has appointed Chris Sultemeier, former executive vice-president of logistics for Walmart Stores, Inc., to its board of directors. Sultemeier has nearly 30 years of experience in leadership and supply chain operations with Walmart Inc. He oversaw all distribution centres and fulfillment centres and was responsible for all domestic and global ocean transportation functions for the retailer. During his career, Sultemeier established solid relationships with global leaders of transportation, third-party warehouse distribution-fulfillment and retail companies.
