Jane Peverett has been appointed to Canadian Pacific Railway Limited‘s Board of Directors effective December 13, 2016. Peverett is a member of the Board of Directors of Hydro One Ltd., Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), Northwest Natural Gas Company and Encana Corp. She most recently served as president and CEO from 2005 to 2009 and CFO from 2003 to 2005 of British Columbia Transmission Corporation. She was the chief executive officer of Union Gas Ltd. from 2001 to 2003. She is an executive committee member for the Institute of Corporate Directors, BC Chapter and a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants. Peverett holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University, an MBA from Queen’s University and is a Certified Management Accountant.

Nissan today announced leadership changes within its North American manufacturing operations. Randy Knight, currently vice-president, manufacturing, Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant, will retire on April 1, 2017 after 33 years of service to Nissan. Knight joined Nissan in 1983 as a production technician in the Smyrna Paint Plant. Knight was named director and plant manager of the Stamping Plant in 2002, director and plant manager of the Trim and Chassis Plant in 2004, and director of Material Handling and Manufacturing Support in 2013. Heath Holtz, currently deputy managing director, manufacturing, Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant, is named vice-president, manufacturing, Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant, replacing Randy Knight. He will report to John Martin, senior vice-president, manufacturing, Supply Chain Management & Purchasing, Nissan North America. Holtz joined Nissan North America in March 2006 as manager of vehicle operations. In July 2012, he moved to Japan as deputy general manager, and then to England to take up the role of vice president, Supply Chain Management, Nissan Europe, a year later.
Douglas Owen has been appointed Secretary General of the Bureau International

des Containers (BIC) following almost four years of service at the organization. With more than 20 years of experience in the maritime transportation industry, Owen joined the BIC as Deputy Secretary General in late 2012. Using his wide experience of innovative data and software solutions for container fleet management, he most recently led the launch of the BoxTech Technical Characteristics Database (TCD). The organization’s newest endeavor, the BoxTech TCD is a non-profit platform for the sharing of container technical details. Owen’s promotion took effect on October 1st 2016 following Bertrand Geoffray’s retirement after nine years with the BIC.
