Manny Calandrino has been appointed president and CEO of the Fastfrate Group of Companies. The group includes Consolidated Fastfrate, Canada Drayage (CDI), Fastfrate Integrated Logistics and BRS Transportation. Calandrino has been with Fastfrate for 30 years. Fastfrate’s Board of Directors comprises prominent industry leaders. Director Don McLauchlin said: “Manny Calandrino has proven himself as an exceptional leader and team builder and we wish him our best as president and CEO of the Fastfrate Group of Companies.”
Duane Chiasson has joined RF Pathways (the warehouse management software system of Automation Associates Inc.), based in Mississauga, Ontario, in the lead sales role. Chiasson brings a wealth of experience to his new position. For eight years he was focused on the sale of transportation and third-party warehousing. In addition, he has held director level positions in both corporate and 3PL installations. As chair of the Toronto Area Council of the CITT, he is a valued and respected member of the supply chain and logistics community.
St. George Logistics (STG) has appointed Joseph (Joe) Tomczak as its new CFO. Previously, Tomczak served as CFO at Neovia Logistics, a global provider of fulfillment services with operations in 29 countries. Joe helped Neovia transition from a subsidiary of Caterpillar, Inc. into a stand-alone business owned by Platinum Equity, and ultimately played a key role in Neovia’s sale to Goldman Sachs and Rhone Capital. Prior to Neovia, he was the CFO for Martin-Brower, a $14 billion provider of global distribution and logistics services for the foodservice industry. Previously Tomczak was CFO at TDS Logistics/Syncreon International, an automotive and technology logistics services provider owned by The Yucaipa Companies. He is a CPA, earned his MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and holds a BA in accounting and business administration from Augustana College.
