Who’s on the move this week: January 5, 2015

Thomas Alford has joined the board of Wajax Corporation. Alford is an independent businessman and former senior executive with over 34 years of experience in the western Canadian oil and gas industry. He founded and served as the President of Trimat Well Servicing Inc. and also served as the president and CEO of Bonus Resource Services Corp. Most recently, he was president and CEO of IROC Energy Services Corporation (“IROC”), an Alberta oilfield services company. In addition to his appointment as a director, Alford was also appointed a member of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and the Governance Committee of the Board of Directors.

Wajax also announced that Richard Plain, senior vice-president, power systems, has elected to leave the corporation to pursue other opportunities and that Michael Gross has been appointed to succeed him, effective January 5, 2015. Gross is a senior executive with 30 years of experience in industrial sales, manufacturing and service. He began his business career in 1984 with Siemens AG Germany, and then went on to hold increasingly senior positions within the Siemens group of companies in Germany and Canada, including vice-president, global sales (traffic systems) and senior vice-president, finance industry (automation and drives).  Most recently, Gross served as the senior vice-president, industry sector for Siemens Canada.

NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG) announces the promotion and shifted responsibilities of several company leaders. These changes follow the recently announced promotion of Chuck Pascarelli to president, Americas. All changes, including Pascarelli’s, took effect January 1. NMHG’s president of sales, Americas, David Furman, maintains his title and direct reports while expanding his areas of responsibility to include the marketing and the leasing and remarketing functions. As previously announced, Pat DeSutter, director of fleet management, has been promoted to the position of vice-president of fleet, service and aftermarket. Vice-president of finance Ray Ulmer maintains the role, while also assuming overall responsibility for human resources. Pascarelli’s remaining direct reports will continue with their current responsibilities.

Jeff Ford, currently global category director for boom lifts, with JLG Industries, Inc, will become director of global strategy and business development. Ford will lead market, customer, and competitive assessments, long-range strategic planning, strategic pricing initiatives, and development of new market and business opportunities. Corey Raymo, currently global category director for scissors, will become global category director for boom lifts. Raymo will be responsible for leading the product, strategy and go-to-market activities for all boom lift products. Paul Kreutzwiser has joined JLG as the global category director, scissors/verticals. Kreutzwiser has more than 12 years of marketing experience in the AWP industry. He will lead the product, strategy and go-to-market activities for the global scissors and vertical categories. All three positions report to Alan Loux, JLG’s global vice president of marketing.
