Who’s on the move this week: November 10, 2014

Lars Tinnefeld and Michel Legere joined Dematic Canada as solution concept specialists in our Toronto and Montreal locations as part of Dematic’s Global Solution Development Team. Tinnefeld has over 13 years of experience in Europe, South Africa and North America as a detail design engineer, project and sales engineer for mechanized and fully automated system configurations in all industries. Legere brings a combined 16 years of consulting and director of distribution operations experience. During his 12 years in consulting, he played key project management roles in distribution network strategies, facility re-engineering & optimization and greenfield designs for  companies throughout North America & Europe. For the past four years he was director of operations for a distribution centre. They both report to Matt Osler, operations manager of Dematic Canada.

Rob Smith has been promoted to dealer development manager, reporting to Scott Johnson, vice-president of business development, at CLARK Material Handing Company. In this new role, he will be calling on both existing and prospective dealers. Smith will be supporting our existing field sales team with the training of dealers on CLARK’s many systems, programs, services and products. He has over ten years of prior forklift sales & marketing experience in the material handling industry. He is a graduate of the University of KY where he earned a BBA in Marketing.

UTi Worldwide Inc promoted Hessel Verhage to president, freight forwarding, the Americas, and Keith Pienaar to president contract logistics and distribution. Verhage joined UTi last April as global vice-president of trade and compliance and subsequently assumed the responsibility for the Americas ocean forwarding business. Pienaar began his professional career at UTi in January 1984, and has held various roles of increasing responsibility in the Freight Forwarding and Contract Logistics and Distribution divisions. Prior to accepting this new role, he served as senior vice-president, contract logistics and distribution for the company’s Africa region.
