BDP International (BDP) has named Nina Olatoke as vice-president, global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). She will also maintain her current role as vice-president, human resources for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. Olatoke will will report to the chief human resources officer, Marcia Lyssy, and play a role in BDP’s long range DEI planning. She is a seasoned human resources professional, with experience leading employees with diversified backgrounds and cultural distinctions in various countries. She is currently based out of BDP’s Dubai office in the United Arab Emirates.
The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) has hired Kevin Traver as vice-president of membership and Sponsorship. Traver will fill this position held by long-time senior staff member Meredith Martino who departed the AAPA team to head-up another organization. Traver’s previous roles include: CCO of the American Trucking Association (ATA), executive director of the Marine Technology Society (MTS), VP of corporate affairs and development for the Navy League of the United States (NLUS), and executive director of the National Maritime Heritage Foundation (NMHF). Most recently he has been working as a consultant providing clients with major donor development, sales, and fundraising plans.
XPO Logistics, Inc. has made two more appointments to the executive team of GXO Logistics, the spin-off of XPO’s logistics business. Eduardo Pelleissone has been named president of GXO’s operations in the Americas and Asia Pacific, and Neil Shelton has been named chief strategy officer. Pelleissone has more than 20 years of experience leading multinational operations in the food, logistics and transportation industries. He joined XPO in 2020 as chief transformation officer, after previously serving as executive vice-president of global operations and chief operating officer for Kraft Heinz Company. Earlier, he held roles as chief executive officer and chief operating officer for rail logistics leader America Latina Logistica SA (ALL). Pelleissone has a master’s degree in logistics, operations and services from COPPEAD Graduate School of Business in Brazil. Shelton’s 25-year career includes head of technology, media and telecom specialist sales at JP Morgan Chase in London, and earlier roles at Credit Suisse, Citigroup and Arthur Andersen. He has piloted more than 10 IPOs, including Autotrader, Cellnex, Delivery Hero, Hello Fresh and Zalando in Europe. He holds a degree in industrial economics from the University of Nottingham in Great Britain.
