Markel, the insurance operation within Markel Group Inc., announced that Dean Johnson has been appointed to the role of senior underwriter, transport and logistics.

Based in London, Johnson will be focused on driving the profitable expansion of the Transport and Logistics portfolio by underwriting liability and property package policies for the ports, terminals and marine trades industries, as well as cargo liabilities and marine professional indemnity, globally. He will work closely with the team to continue supporting broker partners, spearhead the development of innovative products and identify new opportunities to scale further profitable growth.

DP World

DP World has appointed Ashley Laitano as regional key account manager (RKAM). The addition is aimed at accelerating trade lane growth between the Americas and Africa while enhancing DP World’s end-to-end supply chain solutions across the region.

Laitano brings more than a decade of experience in global supply chain management, humanitarian logistics and government-focused operations. In her new role, Laitano will focus on developing trade corridors between the Americas and Africa, leveraging her on-the-ground experience in Sub-Saharan Africa to identify growth opportunities and address the unique challenges faced by customers operating in these regions.
