Walmart
Walmart Inc. announced its board of directors has elected John Furner to succeed Doug McMillon as president and chief executive officer of Walmart Inc., effective Feb. 1, 2026. Furner was also elected to the company’s board of directors, effective immediately. McMillon will retire Jan. 31, 2026, but remain on the board of directors until the next annual shareholders’ meeting and help ensure a smooth transition.

Jones DesLauriers Insurance Management
Jones DesLauriers Insurance Management Inc., a founding Navacord Broker Partner, announced the appointment of Kyle Johnson as partner and rail, logistics and risk management leader within the firm’s Complex Risk division. The appointment reflects the firm’s goal of building specialized capabilities for clients facing complex operational and supply chain exposures.
Johnson will lead strategies and advisory services for clients navigating intricate rail, logistics, transportation and energy sector risk challenges, ensuring tailored solutions for organizations with sophisticated and evolving risk profiles.
Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters
Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) announced the appointment of Peter MacDonald, director of sustainability and external relations at CKF Inc., as its chair of the board of directors. MacDonald succeeds Patrick Oland, chief financial officer, Moosehead Breweries Limited, who has served as Chair since 2023.
MacDonald’s appointment was announced by the organization’s national board today following its annual general meeting in Ottawa.
