Who’s on the move: September 7, 2015

Deborah Butler, executive vice-president planning and chief information officer of Norfolk Southern Corp will retire on October 1, 2015. Butler joined Norfolk Southern in 1978 as a customer account auditor. She served in positions of increasing responsibility in operations before being named assistant vice president transportation customer services in 2000 and vice president customer service in 2002.

Hub Group named Douglas Beck vice-president, secretary and general counsel. Beck had been serving in the role on an interim basis since January 5, 2015. He has more than 20 years of experience advising companies through private practice and as a legal executive. He began his career with Hub Group in June 2011 as assistant general counsel. Before joining Hub Group, Beck served as senior counsel with Alberto-Culver Company from 2007 to 2011. He previously held counsel positions at Navistar International Corporation, Allegiance Healthcare Corporation and Seyfarth Shaw.

Port Logistics Group appointed Marty Brogden as CFO. Brogden brings more than 30 years of experience to Port Logistics Group, including extensive operational and financial experience with global publicly- and privately-held companies. Brogden will report directly to CEO Robert Stull. He was most recently the regional CFO for Agility Logistics. Prior to Agility, Brogden served in senior financial management positions within the distribution, manufacturing, and B2B service sectors, including providing interim CFO services to an Oakley, Inc subsidiary, ABC Window Company, and Accupoll, Inc.

Five new board members, from Asia, Europe, and North America have been elected to TIACA’s Board of Directors. The new Board members are Amy Smith, head of customs and regulatory affairs, DHL Express (USA), Inc; Chee Meng Wong, senior vice-president, Cargo Services, SATS; Russi Batliwala, CEO, Chapman Freeborn Airchartering Ltd; Oliver Gritz, chief commercial officer, MD Europe, Worldwide Air Logistics Group, Inc; and Greg Guillaume, senior vice-president (Strategic Development), Atlas Worldwide Holdings Ltd.
